Gareth Thomas is a journalism master’s student at City, University of London. As an undergrad studying philosophy at the University of Reading, Gareth began writing music reviews for the student newspaper as well as his own blog site. With aspirations towards a career in arts and culture journalism – especially in music – he has since gone on to write for Jazz Journal, All About Jazz, and Jazzwise’s The Write Stuff. Gareth is particularly interested in the recent so-called “UK jazz revolution” that has seen the rising popularity of artists such as Ezra Collective, Nubya Garcia and Sons of Kemet.
