Sister Sledge and Gregory Porter join the jazz, yoga and DJ sets at this year's Love Supreme festival on the South Downs

Disco queens Sister Sledge and soul heart-throb Gregory Porter are among the headliners at Love Supreme, a festival in East Sussex bearing the same name as John Coltrane’s 1964 jazz prayer of thanks to God.

Described as “the largest outdoor jazz festival in Europe”, the event also includes live music from Erykah Badu, TLC, Tom Misch, Lianne La Havas, Sons of Kemet, Nubya Garcia, Ezra Collective, Charles Lloyd & The Marvels, Mulatu Astatke, The Brand New Heavies, Mr Jukes & Barney Artist, Samm Henshaw, Franc Moody, Gary Bartz & Maisha, Matthew Halsall, Gabriels, Lady Blackbird, Emma-Jean Thackray, Julian Lage, Nala Sinephro, Jon Cleary, MF Robots, Sarathy Korwar, Isaiah Sharkey, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Melissa Aldana, Soccer96, Alabaster DePlume, Harold López-Nussa, Alina Bzhezhinska & HipHarp Collective, Arun Ghosh, Cubafrobeat, Graham Costello’s STRATA, Sean Khan, Mamas Gun, Bel Cobain, Maya Delilah, Jazz Morley, Oli Howe, Joe Stilgoe & The Entertainers, Georgia Cécile, Fergus McCreadie, Jackson Mathod, Natalie Williams Soul Family, Michael Janisch, Ife Ogunjobi, Quentin Collins Sextet, Rob Luft, Corto.alto, Ebi Soda, Matt Carmichael, Archipelago, Nye Banfield, Mad Yella, J-Felix, QOW TRIO, Atlanticus, Tongue Fu and Yessaï Karapetian.

In addition there will be “afterparties” (DJ sets) with Jamz Supernova, Norman Jay MBE and Jazz FM Presents, as well as “Blue In Green” DJ sets “curated” by Patterns, Tru Thoughts and Tim Garcia & Tina Edwards, Mafalda, Rebecca Vasment, Kirrolus, Melle Brown and Scarlett O’Malley.

The Supremium VIP area will offer a range of premium benefits plus the opportunity to watch exclusive artist performances and the Jazz Lounge will present a range of artist interviews, talks, panel discussions and film screenings.

Off the musical track the festival features wellness and yoga area Breathe, secret swimming, hill walks across the South Downs, activities aimed at children, and the “Bands & Voices” area, which will present cabaret, spoken word and dance.
