Keith Jarrett unlikely to perform again

Two paralysing strokes have forced 75-year-old Keith Jarrett to concede that he may never play the piano again.

He suffered the double blow in February and May 2018 and it has left him without feeling down his left side. The news was revealed in an interview with the New York Times yesterday (October 21).

Mortality has hovered close to home for Jarrett this year. His bass player Gary Peacock died last month and some time drummer Jon Christensen earlier this year. Associates Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian have also died.
