The Barbican in London offers some top-line jazz performers in the first half of 2022.

They include the Maria Schneider Orchestra performing new material from their 2020 album Data Lords (29 January), Manchester trio GoGo Penguin presenting music from 2020’s eponymous GoGo Penguin (10 February, also live-streamed), Brazilian multi- and “found” instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal performing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (5 May) and guitarist John McLaughlin with The 4th Dimension (28 May).

In addition, on 25 June the SFJAZZ Collective returns to the Barbican after more than 15 years. It will feature Gretchen Parlato, Chris Potter, David Sánchez, Etienne Charles, Warren Wolf, Edward Simon, Matt Brewer, Martin Luther McCoy and Kendrick A.D. Scott with their New Works Reflecting the Moment project.

These events follow a number of prominent late 2021 jazz performances at the Barbican. For information about all forthcoming Barbican jazz, search and scroll at barbican.org.uk/whats-on/contemporary-music.
