Vocalist Paul Ryan and veteran pianist/MD Kenny Clayton frequently entertain at major London night clubs, as in these live recordings.

Focusing here on classic standard love ballads, their show is in the established live cabaret style of the American crooners of the 50s.
Ryan’s heavyish baritone voice has a slightly grainy edge. His phrasing is compact and purposeful, with effective handling of the lyrics.
Clayton’s sensitive backing is deservedly well-featured. He solos with subtle sometimes quirky creativity, and occasional touches of Garner.

Guy and Osborn contribute first-class support and the trio swings elegantly behind well-planned vocals.
