Dave Jones

Dave Jones is a pianist, composer, educator, and writer. His work as a jazz pianist regularly takes him away from the UK jazz circuit to Ireland, France, India, and the USA, performing at festivals, and giving masterclasses and workshops. Tracks from his numerous critically acclaimed jazz CDs have featured on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Now and Jazz Record Requests, and Jazz FM, amongst others. These releases have led to composing for TV and film, and some of his music has recently been used in the US on The Big Bang Theory, Late Night with Seth Meyers and the Golf Central Channel, and also in the Mexican drama Las Aparicio and Location, Location, Location in the UK. He has taught music students of all ages up to masters level, and co-devised and authored BA (Hons.) courses in music, including a new module on improvisation. Dave has also recently written for Pianist magazine, authoring the series Learning Jazz Piano, alongside features and CD reviews. He plans to publish a book in the near future, based on his Jazz Journal series The Classical Tinge.
