Jazzahead 2013 to feature Avishai Cohen
The international jazz trade show held annually in Bremen, Germany will feature bassist Avishai Cohen as part of its Israeli partnership
This year's Jazzahead trade show will be held from 25 to 28 April (an extra half-day longer than usual) in Bremen, Germany, with Israel as its partner country.
The combination exhibition & festival follows the success of Jazzahead 2012, which featured over 70 concerts in four days and welcomed over 7,000 visitors.
The programme kicks off with Israeli Night on 25 April, featuring a mixture of Israeli jazz music, art and other cultural performances. This is followed by Israeli jazz bassist Avishai Cohen (pictured), who will play with his trio at a gala concert on 26 April at Glocke concert hall, performing music from their current CD, Seven Seas.
As well as a packed programme featuring jazz exhibits and live performances, Jazzahead highlights the German jazz scene with its export forum, the German Jazz Expo, and the award of the Prize for German Jazz Journalism.
You can find out more about Jazzahead (officially branded "jazzahead!") on its website as well as booking tickets to the various parts of the programme.
